Rosemary Cottage is a Grade II period cottage in the heart of the charming, historic, riverside village of Dittisham on the River Dart. This holiday cottage in Dittisham retains many original features including wooden beams, an original staircase and large chimney breasts have been carefully maintained. The house fits snugly into the terrain of Manor Street, which leads directly to the river, and the hillside behind the house. There are steps in between rooms and different levels at various places throughout the house.
The house has Wi-Fi throughout and oil-fired central heating in all rooms. Rosemary Cottage, holiday cottage in Dittisham, accepts dogs on request so long as their size is in keeping with the size and aspect of the house. Please call and discuss with us.

Living room and study

A stable front door leads from the path and porch into the living room. There are windows to the front and side of the house, a wood-burning stove standing under a large chimney breast, a 3-seater sofa and an armchair. There is a Smart TV in this room. A tall bookcase holds a selection of books including novels, AGA cookery books, gardening books and books on local history/excursions. A sideboard holds games such as chess, Monopoly, Risk and Scrabble. Steps lead up to a reading/entertainment area with two French doors that open onto a terrace that faces the River Dart. There is an additional 2-seater sofa here.

Kitchen-dining room

The large kitchen has a beamed ceiling, dining table that seats six comfortably, a 4-oven electric AGA that stands in an original fireplace, a stable door that leads out to the front of the house (providing easy access for luggage and shopping) and a fridge, dishwasher and microwave. A high-chair is available for infants and is kept in a cupboard in the kitchen.

Bedroom one

The main bedroom features original beams and has a view of the River Dart and Greenway quay. The bed is king-sized (150 cm x 200 cm) and there is ample wardrobe storage as well as a chest of drawers.

Bedroom two

The second double bedroom has a king-sized bed (150cm x 200 cm), two windows and ample wardrobe storage as well as a chest of drawers. This room has a reading corner with armchair.

Bedroom three

Next to the main bedroom is a single bedroom that has a window overlooking the front porch and garden gate, with a chest of drawers. If accommodating a child, we can provide children's duvet cover on request, or if for an adult or not requested, there would automatically be a white duvet cover.

Bathroom

The bathroom is down two steps from the upstairs hall and has a Duravit wash basin and WC. The bath has a built-in shower attachment. Next to the bathroom in the upstairs hall is an airing cupboard with Megaflo tank.

Utility room and separate W.C.

Upstairs from the kitchen and with direct access to the back garden through a stable door is a utility room with a large fridge/freezer, washer-drier, oil-fired boiler with central heating and hot water controls and a separate WC and hand basin. Plenty of space here for keeping coats and shoes. There is an electric bread making machine here (we supply organic flour and yeast).
